Nilgai, Indian Antelopeai,

This antelope is a native of India where it is a staple food for the Bengal tigers. It also resides in many zoological gardens around the world. In the 1920s Nilgai was overpopulating the San Antonio Zoo. The keepers of the zoo decided to give them away to the local ranchers to be kept on their ranches. The King family adopted few and it wasn't long before they started overpopulate the ranch competing for grass with cattle. Hunters are invited to harvest a number of them each year to keep the population at reasonable level. The King Ranch is located in Kingsville, that's about 45 miles south of Corpus Christi, Tx. Hunts are booked through the King Saddle Shop in Kingsville, Tx.
